Sounds like a lot is going on with a lot of people these days! We are going to have to stay focus on the goal, what ever than means for each of us. Today I just have errands and lunch with a good friend and then coming home and trying to find out what is going on with Diane. It is very hot here in the desert so I am going to try and stay cool if we can. I hope you all have an awesome day and keep Ms. Diane in your prayers.

Good Morning Lisa and Cali friends!
How is everyone? Did you all have a great weekend? I hope so!
Today is well...kind of back to the old grind....lots O' laundry to do from vacation, Tommy and Benny are in school right down the street which I am SO jazzed about. I'm going to go see if they need a grandma to help out in the classroom a couple of days a week for a few hours while I am off. I am getting better and should be starting physical therapy this week.
I wish you all a great day and a wonderful beginning to a new week.
I hope many blessings come your way!

Good Monday morning....I know I know - I have been MIA but I am just so dang busy and since gettinghome from Vegas on Friday I have been catching up on sleep and rest.....oh yeah I go like gangbusters when in Vegas.
Had an awesome time and barry Manilow was great.....and partying in the suite with Rhonda and Becky and Michelle and Mikey was so much fun.....
Not to much planned for me today -just going to make some mock muffins this morning then go to Living Spaces with my honey.....going to look at couches.
Hope everyone is doing well and I am waiting on pins and needles to hear how our Diane is doing. I am worried sick about her but know she is a trooper for sure...just so sorry she is having to go through all of this...
Hugs to all and have a great day.
I hope everyone had a very nice weekend. Yesterday, I went to my neice's baby shower. A week out of surgery and I go to family party. I actually did great. They had bottled water and I had brought some. When everybody ate, I ate some string cheese and a tsp of cottage cheese. That was enough for me! It was hard, though! Especially when they brought out the fried chicken, my favorite. I kept telling myself-- I am not hungry! My head was working overtime on me!! I did answer a lot of questions and I hope I enlightened a few people. I actually had 2 people come up to me and say that because of what I did, they want to be healthier too! Wow! That was humbling.
Today is the first day back to school for my neice and nephews. Boy, I remember starting in September after Labor Day and finishing in the middle of June! I don't envy them, cause its still so hot out there! Poor things!
Hubby has an ultrasound today on his caratid artery. Please send good vibes, thoughts, amd prayers. I am really worried about him. He is so non-med complient about his diabetes. His A1C comes back at 12!!! I try so hard! I am at my wits end. His blood pressure is up, his eyes are acting up. And yet he still doesn't get it!! I can't give up. because he already has. But I am so tired of playing mama to a man 17 years older than me. I love him, but he doesn't love himself. sigh.....

Well it turned out to be hot yesterday and all my good intentions of cleaning the house went out the door. We walked to church and then came home and had lunch at sweet tomatoes (used my card and they charged me only 4.89). I love their selection of soups and veggies. I did not know they had breakfast on Sunday. So was able to get some scrambled eggs, chili and a little wonton chicken salad (my favorite).
Came home and DH started on the yard again ( he has been a maniac about it lately). Then when for a drive through Niles and onto calaveras rd. It was hot but nice with the top down. We saw a few deer and lots of cows. Vanessa was excited.
Well better get back to work. Everyone have a great day.

This morning finds me studying for my Astronomy Final tomorrow. I have one lecture day left (today). I'm pretty excited; if I do well on the Final, I should be able to pull off an A in the class. Which is pretty good for me, considering it was an intensive summer science class. Then I start Fall a week from today and I am taking 4 classes; History of the U.S.; History of Philosophy; Marriage and Family and Computer Information Systems. One of those classes is a hybrid, and one is online. I still get to be on campus 4 days out of the week though, which I completely enjoy.
Yesterday I had a volunteer docent shift at the Dana Point Tide Pools, and I accomplished something I have been wanting to do since my orientation in February right after my surgery. I hiked all the way to the caves and back! It's about an hour roundtrip (and I've done plenty of longer walks in the county park behind our complex), but it was mega-labor intensive with rock climbing - it was probably half trail (well, a sort of trail, I'll have to take a picture) and the other half is climbing up and down over the rocks. But, I made it out there and back with NO PROBLEMS!! I was sweating (it was hot, and I had my fleece Docent vest on) but when I finished, I was not out of breath, or in pain from all the climbing or anything. And today I'm feeling no ill effects. That is a MAJOR wow moment for me... When I first tried in February, I made it maybe 1/6 of the way.
I am planning a trip for Labor Day to see my friend in South Dakota. She came out here for fourth of July and we had such a blast. I met her in 2003 while working at the Pick Your Part corporate offices, and she ended up moving to SD a couple of years ago to be with her boyfriend (he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met). I've never been to SD, and they have a cabin on a lake a couple hundred miles north of their place (they live in Marion - small town!). I am looking forward to fishing, swimming, laying out and getting some color on these white legs of mine (now that I am comfortable enough to wear shorts!) and just be with nature. I like that.
My next docent shift is on the 23rd, from 3-7 p.m., so if you are around that day you should stop by and say hello. I'll post more information as the date gets closer in case anyone actually wants to come down.
For now - back to my studying!

Just a real quick one as I must start to get busy here. Monday morning back to work. Ugh. Get's harder every week.
Had a great weekend. Saw Ralphie May Saturday. Funny man. Filty, but funny. Yesterday was a fairly layed back day. Went out to lunch and then stopped by the Harley store to pick up some T-shirts for one of Mike's brother's back east. He has a Harley and is trying to get T-shirts from all over. Men can be so silly.
Oh well, time to get busy. Everyone have a great day and do something special just for you.
